At a Fruity Tunes session I aim to give a half hour of musical fun in an environment where children will feel relaxed and able to express themselves exploring different themes about music and the world. We aim for fun and education for everyone. We pay attention to the Foundation stage of the national curriculum in order to provide an introduction to nursery learning, reinforcing language, social and emotional development.
We intend every Fruity Tunes session to be a family occasion where parents and children can meet, make friends and enjoy their mornings with music.
Fruity Tunes also runs on a drop in basis giving families the flexibility of attendance.
We start every Fruity tunes session with our Fruity introduction song where every child is individually welcomed.
I always try to keep the set list fresh and inspired, so interest is maintained, but I do essentially go through a few sections:
Movement/dancing songs |
Classic songs |
Musical Instruments |
Puppets |
Exploration of a theme; i.e. Seasons |
Bubbles |
All sessions are led with guitar and although there are original songs I do squeeze in the best classics.
